The Department of Surgery invites you to a Sparkman Lectureship, the 27th Annual Surgery Research Forum, on April 16! This annual event lets faculty, fellows, residents, students and staff share their research and will include guest speaker Kathie-Ann Joseph, M.D., who is a Professor of Surgery and a Vice Chair for Diversity and Health Equity at New York University.

Audience members will hear oral presentations and “poster blasts” (brief talks about selected posters) and can view a poster exhibit outside the lecture hall. Awards will be given for the best presentations and poster.

Attendees can earn CME credit, and breakfast and lunch will be provided.

The guest speaker, Dr. Joseph, is Co-Director of the Welters Breast Health Outreach and Navigation Program at NYU Langone Health. She was Chief of Breast Services at Bellevue Hospital for more than a decade and was named its Physician of the Year in 2015. She founded the Women in Medicine Collaborative at Columbia University and received the VP&S Gold Medal and Alumni Medal from Columbia in 2022.
