About Barbara Kahn:

Dr. Kahn received her bachelor's degree and her medical degree from Stanford University. She also holds a master's degree in health sciences from the University of California at Berkeley. After completing internal medicine training and a general medicine fellowship at the UC Davis Medical Center, she began her career in molecular research at the National Institutes of Health, where she also completed a clinical endocrine fellowship.

 

Her research focuses on insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes. Her lab has identified signaling pathways involved in insulin sensitivity, weight maintenance, and regulation of hunger. She has also been involved in research on the GLUT 4 transporter and its role in the regulation of glucose tolerance.
