With World Autism Month recognized every April, join us on Thursday, March 31 at 7 p.m. CST for a look ahead to the research and future of targeted autism therapies. Learn about the latest advances in autism genetics and the study of disease mechanisms with UT Southwestern’s Maria Chahrour, Ph.D., and Peter Tsai, M.D., Ph.D. Hear how these researchers are leveraging the mechanistic understanding of brain circuits and molecular pathways for development of therapies for individuals with autism.

 

Dr. Chahrour is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Neuroscience, Psychiatry, in the the Eugene McDermott Center for Human Growth and Development, and in the Center for Genetics of Host Defense at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She is the Principal Investigator of the Chahrour lab. Dr. Tsai is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Neurology, Neuroscience, Pediatrics, and Psychiatry. Clinically, Dr. Tsai cares for children with autism and cerebellar dysfunction in the Center for Autism & Developmental Disabilities, and he is the Principal Investigator of the Tsai lab.
