About this Event
5323 Harry Hines Blvd, DALLAS, TX 75390
The entire UT Southwestern community is invited to honor the legacy of the late Beth Levine, M.D., whose groundbreaking work laid the foundation for the field of mammalian autophagy – the process by which cells dispose of damaged components and maintain cellular health.
Established in 2023, the Beth Levine, M.D. Prize in Autophagy Research recognizes pioneers in the field of autophagy. This year's recipient is Andrea Ballabio, M.D., an Italian medical geneticist who has devoted his career to explaining the mechanisms underlying genetic diseases. Learn more about Dr. Ballabio and his research in our news release.
Following Dr. Ballabio’s presentation, titled "The Lysosome: from Trash Can to Control Center of Cell Metabolism," a luncheon reception will be held.
Registration required for the luncheon.
