AlphaGenome (Google DeepMind, Nature 2026) predicts how DNA sequence controls gene regulation—including chromatin accessibility, transcription factor binding, histone modifications, gene expression, splicing, and 3D genome structure—at single-base-pair resolution from a 1 Mb input. A key use case is interpreting noncoding variants to predict their functional impact before performing laboratory experiments.

Topics include:

  • What AlphaGenome predicts and how it compares with prior models (Enformer and Borzoi)
  • Research applications, including variant interpretation, experimental design, and integration with existing Astrocyte workflows (Parabricks → AlphaGenome → AlphaFold3)
  • A conceptual overview of how the model works
  • Live walkthrough: obtaining an API key and making your first prediction

AlphaGenome is already available through Astrocyte. Access is free for non-commercial research.
