Join UT Southwestern Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center (SCCC) leaders to learn about the science behind cancer clinical trials and their path to becoming part of patient care on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at  7 p.m.

This Science Café will feature David Gerber, M.D., Professor of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology, and Associate Director of Clinical Research at the Simmons Cancer Center, and Heather McArthur, M.D., MPH, Associate Professor of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology, and Clinical Director of the Breast Cancer Program.

Learn with Drs. Gerber and McArthur about the basics of clinical trial operations and patient eligibility, the value of participating in trials, and overall trial goals for discovery of new treatments. Drs. Gerber and McArthur will also address the types of trials offered at the Simmons Cancer Center, why that distinguishes UT Southwestern in North Texas, and the value to patients who receive care at an National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center.
