Clinical Informatics Research Colloquium 

We are very pleased that our February Colloquium will feature Timothy Stettheimer, Ph.D, Vice President of Education for the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), a 5,000-plus member professional organization. In this role, Dr. Stettheimer leads all education strategy for members and affiliate associations, as well as international efforts. Education initiatives include CHIME’s Fall and Spring Forums, CIO Bootcamps, Leadership Academies as well as other summits, workshops and symposia. Dr. Stettheimer has previously served as a healthcare CIO for two decades and has worked with healthcare information technology and healthcare leaders for twenty-five years. 

Dr. Stettheimer will present “A New Strategy for the Changing World of Healthcare Informatics.” The world of healthcare informatics has always included rapid change.  However, the last decade has seen an unparalleled acceleration in change that offers both challenges and opportunities for the healthcare informaticist. In this presentation, Dr. Stettheimer will discuss what has changed in our ecosystem and which changes are likely to be sustained. Additionally, we will consider what value looks like in this new world and the implications for the healthcare ecosystem as well as future roles and workforce implications. Finally, the impact of national policy and will be considered as a variable driving the pace and probability of change. 

The colloquium will be hosted on and recorded by Zoom. Details are listed below. The date and time is Tuesday, February 23, 2021, 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
