The Clinical Informatics Center at UT Southwestern hosts the Clinical Informatics Research Colloquium to highlight the outstanding work done at UT Southwestern and partnering organizations in the clinical informatics space. This is part of our effort to bring clinical informatics, research informatics, and other data and informatics scientists together at UT Southwestern to foster exchange of ideas, collaboration, and development of grants, papers, and novel projects.

We are very pleased that our January Colloquium will feature Suzanne Bakken, RN, PhD, FAAN, FACMI.

Faculty Page - Columbia DBMI

Dr. Bakken is the Alumni Professor of Nursing and Professor of Biomedical Informatics at Columbia University and the Editor-in-Chief of JAMIA. JAMIA is the American Medical Informatics Association’s premier peer-reviewed journal for biomedical and health informatics. Covering the full spectrum of activities in the field, JAMIA includes informatics articles in the areas of clinical care, clinical research, translational science, implementation science, imaging, education, consumer health, public health, and policy. JAMIA's articles describe innovative informatics research and systems that help to advance biomedical science and to promote health. Case reports, perspectives and reviews also help readers stay connected with the most important informatics developments in implementation, policy and education.

Dr. Bakken will share with our informatics community what it is like to manage an informatics journal, what our faculty, trainees, and students need to know about writing good informatics papers, and insights on up-and-coming topics in informatics research.

The colloquium will be hosted on and recorded by Zoom. The date and time are Tuesday, January 25, 2022, 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Please contact Katherine.Flannery@utsouthwestern.edu to register for this event.
