Dr. Maldonado’s research lab developed the Stanford Integrated Psychosocial Assessment for Transplantation (SIPAT), a comprehensive screening tool created to assist in the psychosocial assessment of organ transplant and ventricular assist device (VAD) candidates, for which he was awarded the Dorfman Award for Best Original Research from the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine. Come hear about the evolution of the SIPAT and a discussion of the psychosocial aspects of organ transplant.
