 ar. \n\n \n\nWe are excited that our November Seminar will feature Xiaoqia
 n Jiang\, PhD\, Associate Vice President of Medical AI at the University o
 f Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). \n\n \n\nDr. Jiang wi
 ll present his talk “Large Language Model and its application in healthc
 are"\n\n \n\nBio:\n\nDr. Jiang holds the Department Chair of Data Scie
 nce and Artificial Intelligence position and is honored to be the Christop
 her Sarofim family professor. Additionally\, Dr. Jiang serves as the cente
 r director of Secure Artificial Intelligence for Health Care (SAFE) at the
  McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics (MSBMI). He received severa
 l NIH grants as PI\, obtained career awards like CPRIT Rising Stars and UT
  Stars (>35 million dollars)\, and won several best and distinguished pape
 r awards from American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) Joint Summit
 s on Translational Science (2012\, 2013\, 2016\, 2020\, 2024).  \n\n \n\nA
 bstract:\n\nLarge Language Models (LLMs) have revolutionized the field of 
 natural language processing\, enabling unprecedented advancements in under
 standing and generating human language. In healthcare\, these models hold 
 immense potential to transform patient care\, medical research\, and admin
 istrative processes. This talk explores the applications of LLMs in health
 care\, including their role in enhancing clinical decision support\, autom
 ating administrative tasks\, and improving patient engagement. I will talk
  about some related work and its applications in healthcare\, discuss the 
 ethical considerations and challenges of deploying these technologies. \n\
