The campus community is invited to attend the William H. Snyder III, M.D. Lecture on Wednesday, October 30 at 1:30 p.m. on the South campus in the Tom and Lula Gooch Auditorium. This annual event is held in honor of the well‐respected and admired professor of surgery for whom the lecture is named.

Dr. Snyder joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 1971, where he quickly earned a reputation as a highly skilled clinician, gifted surgeon, and inspiring teacher. In 2006, Dr. Snyder was selected as the first Head of the Edward H. Cary College, a learning community that brings together selected faculty with small groups of medical students to help them absorb the clinical skills, behaviors, and attitudes of a physician. Today, Dr. Snyder is remembered for his thorough, compassionate care of patients, and, most especially, for his efforts in training generations of surgeons.

The 2024 Snyder lecture will be given by Dr. Lynne A. Kirk.
