About Kaniksha Desai:

Dr. Desai received her medical degree from Wake Forest School of Medicine and completed internal medicine residency training at Virginia Commonwealth University. She then obtained advanced training through an endocrinology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic.

Dr. Desai's clinical practice focuses on the management of patients with thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer. Her research interests focus on thyroid cancer survivorship care.

Her dedication to quality improvement began during her residency training and grew as she recognized the socieoeconmic and systemic factors influencing healthcare. She advocates for physician leadership in healthcare transformation, emphasizing the alignment of patient and provider outcomes to enhance care and professional fulfillment.
