  • Identify steps in the resettlement process, particularly related to health screenings and primary care management in the United States. 
  • Recognize common mental health conditions that are prevalent among refugee populations. 
  • Improve cultural competency and treatment plans for refugee mental health in the primary care setting. 
  • Pinpoint current gaps in refugee mental healthcare and directions of research to improve such gaps.

About the Speaker:

Sandra Chang, M.D. is a chief resident on the H.E.A.R.T. track in the UT Southwestern Department of Family and Community Medicine.
