 ration kicks off at 11:30 a.m. with a lunch reception featuring Native Ame
 rican-inspired dishes like cedar plank chicken\, wild rice pilaf\, three s
 isters mash\, and maple brûlée squash. \n\n \n\nAt noon\, the ceremony w
 ill feature a panel discussion exploring the intersection of Indigenous an
 d Western medicine\, with insights from: \n\nTimothy Brown\, M.D.\, Assist
 ant Professor of Internal Medicine\, UTSW \n\nBlake Weaver\, M.B.A.\, Asso
 ciate Director at UnitedHealth Group and a member of the Texas Native Heal
 th Board of Trustees \n\nHeath Clayton\, M.S.\, Adjunct Professor\, SMU Co
 x School of Business and Executive Director\, National Fund for Excellence
  in American Indian Education\, the foundation for the Bureau of Indian Ed
 ucation (BIE)   \n\nChristopher Logan\, LPC\, LCDC\, Behavioral Health Man
 ager\, Texas Native Health \n \n\nThe event will also showcase craftwork b
 y award-winning visionary artist Amanda Wilson\, a member of the Comanche\
 , Kiowa\, and Choctaw Nations who specializes in handcrafted neckties. \n\
 n \n\nThis hybrid event is hosted by the Office for Institutional Opportun
 ity and will be livestreamed on UTSW’s YouTube channel for those unable 
 to attend in person. \n\n \n\nPlease join us in honoring the rich heritage
  and contributions of First Nations communities. \n\n \n\nCampus shuttle s
 ervices will be increased at the time of this event and the gates at Staff
  Garage 2 on South Campus will be open. \n\n \n\nRegistration is required.
