About Amin Nassar:

Dr. Nassar holds a bachelor's degree from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon, where he also received his medical degree. He then completed internal medicine residency training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, where he served as Chief Resident.

Dr. Nassar’s interests include cancer genomics, tumor mutational burden, immunotherapy outcomes, and health disparities in oncology, with a focus on ancestry-associated differences in cancer biology and treatment response.

Dr. Nassar’s research centers on cancer genomics and the molecular determinants of treatment response, with a particular emphasis on how genetic ancestry, sex, and other patient-specific factors influence tumor biology and clinical outcomes. His work frequently examines tumor mutational burden, genomic alterations, and biomarker development to better understand variability in response to immune checkpoint inhibitors and other targeted therapies. Across his publications and presentations, he has explored disparities in cancer outcomes, ancestry-specific differences in genomic profiles, and the identification of predictive markers that can guide precision oncology. His research also extends to germline and somatic mutations, epigenomic profiling, and the development of integrative models that combine clinical and genomic data to improve risk stratification and therapeutic decision-making in patients with cancer.
