DESCRIPTION:"The Evolving Landscape of Urothelial Cancer Treatment"\n\nSpea
ker:\n\nMatthew Galsky\, M.D.\nLillian and Howard Stratton Professor of Me
dicine\nDirector of Genitourinary Medical Oncology\nDivision of Hematology
& Medical Oncology\nIcahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai\nDeputy Direc
tor\, Mount Sinai Tisch Cancer Center\n\nAbout Matthew Galsky:\n\nDr. Gals
ky earned his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine\, co
mpleted an internal medicine residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Ce
nter/Harvard Medical School\, and a medical oncology fellowship at Memoria
l Sloan Kettering Cancer Center\, where he served as Chief Fellow.\n\nA me
dical oncologist specializing in bladder\, prostate\, kidney\, and testicu
lar cancers\, Dr. Galsky has built an internationally recognized research
program focused on developing new treatments for genitourinary malignancie
s and advancing precision medicine approaches for patients with urothelial
carcinoma. His work combines clinical trials\, translational research\, a
nd biomarker discovery to better understand why some patients respond to t
herapy while others develop resistance.\n\nHis current research focuses on
the biologic drivers of luminal urothelial cancer\, particularly the PPAR
γ signaling pathway. His team and collaborators have helped establish PPA
Rγ as a key regulator of luminal differentiation in normal urothelium and
a potential therapeutic target in bladder cancer\, where genomic studies
have identified enrichment of PPARγ amplifications and RXRα mutations. D
 r. Galsky has been involved in the clinical development of FX-909\, a firs
t-in-class PPARγ inverse agonist designed to suppress both ligand-induced
and basal transcriptional activity. Early clinical findings presented at
the 2026 ASCO Genitourinary Cancers Symposium demonstrated evidence of tar
get engagement and preliminary antitumor activity in heavily pretreated pa
tients with advanced urothelial carcinoma\, supporting ongoing studies aim
ed at refining patient selection and expanding the role of PPARγ-targeted
  therapy in bladder cancer.
