About Ajit Limaye:
Dr. Limaye specializes in infectious diseases with a focus on immunocompromised patients, including those with solid organ or stem cell transplants. He attends on the Transplant/Immunocompromised Host Infectious Diseases Inpatient Consult Service and is based at UCSF-Parnassus.
He serves as the Director of the Transplant/Immunocompromised Host Infectious Disease Program.
Dr. Limaye focuses his research on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of viral infections (CMV, BK virus, respiratory viruses) in transplant patients. He leads several NIH-sponsored randomized multicenter clinical trials of new preventive and therapeutic strategies for CMV.
