About Helen King:

Dr. King holds a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Georgia in Athens. She earned her medical degree at Mercer University in Macon. She completed internal medicine residency training and advanced training through a fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of California San Diego.

 

At UT Southwestern, Dr. King is the Associate Program Director of the Infectious Diseases. She is also a member of the DFW Citywide Infectious Diseases Conference Committee, the HIV Fellowship Program Evaluation Committee, and the Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program Evaluation Committee.

 

Dr. King's research interests include HIV, PrEP treatment, drug effectiveness for COVID-19 patients, STI infections, and many other infectious diseases. Her findings have resulted in several clinical trials, investigations, case reports, and peer-reviewed articles. Her research has also been featured in numerous non-peer-reviewed scientific and medical publications and other media.
