About Kenneth Covinsky:

Dr. Covinsky earned his bachelor's degree in biochemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He earned his medical degree at the University of California San Francisco, and received internal medicine residency training at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. He then received advanced training through a fellowship in general internal medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, and obtained a master's of public health degree in quantitative methods from the Harvard University School of Public Health. 

 

Dr. Covinsky is a clinician-researcher in the Divison of Geriatrics at the University of California San Francisco. He holds the Edmund G. Brown, Sr Distinguished Professorship in Geriatrics and is Principal Investigator of the UCSF Older Americans Independence Center. His research seeks to understand the factors that lead to disability in older persons and to improve the quality of life of those with older age disability and their caregivers.
