Title: Navigating without a map: how single proteins find their way through complex organelle landscapes
Speaker Bio: Dr. Obara is currently a Research Scientist in Jennifer Lippincott-Schwartz's lab at Janelia, where he studies cell biology using a combination of live-cell single molecule imaging, super-resolution microscopy, correlative light and electron microscopy, and FIB-SEM imaging. His work has shed light on endoplasmic reticulum structure, dynamics, and positioning, microtubule post-translational modifications, and protein translocation at inter-organelle contact sites. His work is primarily focused on the development and application of advanced technologies in super resolution imaging and quantitative cytometry to address fundamental questions in cell biology, immunology, and neuroscience.
