The NIH SBIR/STTR program is one of the nation’s largest early stage seed funds (over $1 Billion) for life sciences.
Lili Portilla, Director of Strategic Alliances at the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS), leads the NCATS Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.
Lili will be presenting on (1) SBIR/STTR funding opportunities and other small business resources available for academic entrepreneurs and startups, and on (2) female-focused resources the NIH and NCATS have for encouraging women to apply for funding opportunities.
Lili will discuss tips to help develop a successful application to assist those aiming to commercialize their innovations. For projects that are not a good fit for NCATS, Lili can make introductions to the leader of the SBIR/STTR program at the appropriate NIH institute.
