"Breast Cancer in Sub-Saharan Africa: Challenges, Opportunities, and Research Insights"

Breast cancer is a growing public health challenge in Sub-Saharan Africa, with unique epidemiological trends, barriers to care, and outcomes distinct from high-income settings. This Grand Rounds presentation will provide a comprehensive overview of the breast cancer landscape across the cancer care continuum—including screening, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and palliative care. We will explore disparities in access, the impact of late-stage presentation, and evolving treatment strategies within resource-limited settings. Additionally, I will share findings from my own research, highlighting innovative approaches, emerging collaborations, and opportunities for improving breast cancer care in the region.
