About this Event
Join Science Café on Thursday, Sept. 22, from 7 to 8 p.m. for a conversation about the science and medicine of healthy weight.
In today’s busy and stressful society, “it takes a village” is more than a clever adage when it comes to good health. One needs ongoing support and encouragement from family, friends, and community connections to make good choices and balance negative messaging about weight, wellness, and aspirational body images. Jaclyn Albin, M.D., Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Internal Medicine, and Melanie Hafford, M.D., Assistant Professor of Surgery, will discuss these issues and how research informs their work in lifestyle medicine and bariatric surgery. Both physicians value the “village” concept to promote healthy living and disease prevention.
Registration is required for Science Café.
