This course is designed for the registered nurse or advance practice nurse specializing in stroke care to successfully sit for the American Board of Neuroscience Nursing Stroke Certified Registered Nurse Exam. Topics will include review of neuro-anatomy, nursing actions in time-sensitive treatments, rationales for medication decisions and the role of the nurse in stroke recovery and rehabilitation. Testing strategies will be reviewed along with a discussion of possible care scenarios. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided.
UT Southwestern University Hospitals is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association – Approver, an accredited approver with distinction by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This activity provides 14 contact hours of continuing nurse education after attending both days. No partial credit given.
