Please join us for the fourth lecture in the Department of Surgery's Structural Disadvantages Curriculum. We will be covering the scope and history, as well as highlighting the major policies responsible for modern-day mass incarceration. We'll discuss the way mass incarceration affects health using a socioecological model. Finally, we'll discuss the interface of healthcare and mass incarceration, including the status of healthcare within carceral facilities, and the lack of adequate policies on care of incarcerated people in hospitals.
