UT Southwestern Events Calendar

Dr. Murphy is an assistant professor of Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine. After graduating from Newcastle University, UK, he completed fellowships in biomarker development for psychosis and mood disorders at UT Health and Baylor College of Medicine respectively. Dr. Murphy's research program uses neurophysiological measures of brain activity to identify patterns of information that can be exploited to design biomarkers of mood, trauma, and suicide disorders. His program objective is to create scalable biomarkers that can be easily applied in everyday clinical settings to guide practitioner judgement, and to reduce the cost-burden of failed treatments for patients.

Dr. Murphy will be speaking at the Center for Depression Research & Clinical Care's Dallas site. The Center for Depression Research and Clinical Care (CDRC) at UT Southwestern Medical Center is nationally recognized for its cutting edge research in unipolar and bipolar depression. The research conducted within the center brings better understanding of the causes of depression, identifies effective new treatments, and improves existing ones.
