The webinar is part of a webinar series presented by Business Resource Groups at UT Southwestern (African American Employees BRG, Asian Pacific Islander BRG, Hispanic Latino BRG, LGBTA BRG, Veterans BRG, and the Women and Allies BRG) in partnership with various departments on campus.
At UT Southwestern, we proudly employ individuals from a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. However, managing a linguistically diverse team can also present challenges in communication and collaboration.
It is a managerial or supervisory responsibility to create an inclusive environment that fosters open and effective communication among all employees, while also ensuring compliance with UT Southwestern Equal Opportunity policy. To support you in this crucial role, we invite you to join our upcoming training session, "Tips for Managers: Restrictive Language Policies and Practices."
This training will help you:
1. Understand the workplace policies concerning language restrictions and national origin discrimination.
2. Identify effective strategies for promoting collaboration and communication among linguistically diverse employees.
3. Address common questions and concerns regarding language policies and practices in your department.
This session will be facilitated by Anthony WIlliams J.D., Manager, Investigations and Training, Office of Institutional Equity and Access will provide insight into our policies and processes that are designed to protect employees and provide guidance for managers and supervisors.
