Overview:
Dr. Fenton will explore AI policy, regulations, and funding opportunities through SBIR, NIH, and NSF, as well as the NSF I-Corp program, to support innovative research and development.
Bio:
Dr. Fenton is the McWilliams Vice Dean for Education and directs the Center for Quality Health IT Improvement. Her research includes workforce development, ICD-11, and health IT for chronic care in low-resource settings. She received the UT System Regent’s Outstanding Teaching Award in 2019 and the UTHealth President’s Scholar Award for Teaching in 2021. She has developed UTHealth’s Doctorate in Health Informatics and updated the Master’s program for CAHIIM accreditation.
