Pitch Presentations & Reception
This session is the culmination event of our UTSW AI INNOVATIONS CHALLENGE. Three finalist projects, led by UTSW students, trainees, and staff, will present their solutions on August 29 to a panel of judges from industry and academia.
Finalist Teams:
- Team 1: MedBox - A Fully Localized Solution for Healthcare AI.
Project and Industry Impact: MEdBox is an automated grading and feedback assistant for medical education programs and simulation centers. The product includes an institutionally-tailored custom hardware-software “box” of pre-curated pipelines deploying LLMs and other AI models that will be offered with additional data consultation services.
- Team 2: UMed Imaging - Universal Modality Translation Model for Medical Imaging.
Project and Industry Impact: UMed Imaging develops a deep learning model capable of converting between multiple medical imaging modalities, such as CT, MRI, and PET, reducing the need for multiple scans and minimizing radiation exposure. This innovation has the potential to streamline radiotherapy processes and lower healthcare costs.
- Team 3: Phixer - A Streamlined Approach to Primary Care with AI.
Project and Industry Impact: Phixer enhances primary care visits by using AI-powered conversation analysis and diagnostic support to summarize doctor-patient interactions and provide real-time insights. This reduces the documentation burden on physicians and improves diagnostic accuracy, leading to better patient outcomes.
